Local Scoop: Philadelphia Part II

The Philadelphia Museum of Art became a landmark when Rocky decided to run up these now famous steps. Tourists still flock to this site to run up the steps and raise their arms in triumph. It also holds a phenomenal collection of art - one of the best in the country. The beautiful building - with the art as backdrop - is the perfect venue for a party. Just ask Liz who works for the museum in special events!

Liz was kind enough to provide her favorite spots in Philly.

Favorite Spot for Cocktails:
The FRANKLIN  Mortgage & Investment Company was once the front for the largest alcohol ring in the country. Now it is a hip bar that has brought back the classic cocktails and have just started serving snacks. (Be sure to ask for the food menu or they might not bring it.)

Best Food (On expense account):
AMADA serves delicious Old City tapas with fabulous decor and amazing menu of food and drinks. Try the sangria and and the Chef's Selection.

Best Food (On a Budget):
You can't list the best places to eat in Philly without including one of the STARR Restaurants. EL REY has great Mexican food - order the margarita and one of their tacos.

Best Spot for Lunch:
RYBREAD is located in the Art Museum area. It is the perfect place to enjoy delicious sandwiches and scones, sip fab coffee or fresh brewed iced tea in a cozy setting with orange decor details.

Favorite Burger Place:
Liza was not looking for the best burger in Philly, but the Good Dog Burger at GOOD DOG BAR found her! A burger with Roquefort cheese in the middle with perfectly cooked fries on the side - yes, please!

Best Dessert:
Looking for a chocolate haven in the middle of the city? Head to NAKED CHOCOLATE for all things chocolate. Liza suggests the Dark Hot Chocolate with a side of ice water (it is that decadent).
